When one gets baptized his name is Selvi. But let's assume she changed her name to Sarah because she didn't want to run the Christian race to continue with that name. Now his name has been recorded as Selvi in the life book?? Or would it have been posted as Sarah?
Many say that we will be given a new name based on Revelation 2:17 and Revelation 3:12.
We see in Revelation 3:12 that I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem that my God is coming down from heaven.
So will we be called by our current names in heaven?
The names of the children of God are written in the Lamb's book of life (Revelation 20:15; 21:27).
I believe those are our earthly names. God approved the names Adam gave to the animals as correct.
God has called His people by earthly names.
For example, He called them by names like Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
We see in (Revelation 21:12-14) that the name of the tribe of Israel and the twelve names of the apostles will be written the same.
Names reflect their individuality. It is highly likely that many others on this earth bear the same name.
For example : David, Abraham, Johnson and many more common names... How many people would come up when called Abraham in that situation?
As far as I am concerned, God has certainly made a way for this confusion to not be above, but I have not been able to find any clear scriptural evidence for it in the scriptures so far.
The name change is up to them. The scriptures do not emphasize in the New Testament the need to change the name but rather to change it based on one's society and inner maturity. The heart must be renewed.
Jesus in Tamil, Jesus in English, Esa in Arabic and Esu or Yosu / Joshua in Hebrew are pronounced differently in many languages.
So my understanding is that the color they know is their identity in heaven.
Even though there are billions of people in the world, God has a unique handprint for each of us and we will clearly understand the difference in name when we pronounce our name in the presence of God. (1 John 3:2)
Beloved, now we are God's children, and what we shall be shall not yet appear; But we know that when we see Him as He is when He appears, we shall be like Him.
