We preach Christ crucified; (I Corinthians 1:23)

There are many people preaching in the world. Everyone wants to have their say. They will say whatever they think is right, but the message of "Jesus Christ crucified" is completely different. Billy Graham has this to say about it: "I have preached the gospel of the cross to many people. I have seen people come to God. But I never knew how this simple message could bring about such a conversion."

Yes...that's true. The good news...that Jesus Christ was crucified...rebukes every justification within us. Anyone who tastes it will know that there is power in it beyond our knowledge and understanding. The faithful judge bore our sins on the cross. We are grateful for that. He has made perfect peace between us and God on the cross.

The people who do not know God's Son are running here and there. Yet they are blind to true peace. That peace is in the gospel of the cross. But this is crazy and stumbling for many, but for us it is the new strength of the Lord. Amen.
