Ephesians 6:17. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit of God.

Every piece of armor given to the Christian in spiritual warfare in this world we live in points to the Lord Jesus Christ. Because He holds all things together, in Him we have everything we need to face the forces of evil and spiritual wickedness. By keeping faith in Him, one can overcome all the earthly thorns in life.

Paul clearly states that the sword of the Spirit is the word of God. The word given to us by our heavenly Father is the weapon we must use to defeat our adversary Satan in this earthly walk and the knife that cuts through every attack from the enemy. Every passage of scripture points to the Lord Jesus Christ because He is the living Word.

When Jesus was tempted by Satan, Jesus Christ used the Scriptures to overcome the temptation (Matthew 4:1-11). Let us also know God's scriptures and overcome every problem that comes from Satan in our life with the word of God which is the spiritual sword. Let us rejoice in the Lord. Amen.
