"Solomon had a vineyard in Baal Amon, and he left it in the hands of the keepers for its produce, each to bring a thousand pieces of silver."
Solomon is a symbol of Jesus Christ in the Book of Genesis (his explanation is in the Expository Essay). 'Baal Amon' is said to be a place outside Jerusalem.
"Solomon had a vineyard" means that the Father is the gardener, says John 15:11. But in this verse it is said that Jesus Christ (Solomon) had a garden. However, in John 17:6, Jesus Christ looks at the Father and says, You have given me your people. And Jesus Christ says in John 17:10, All that is yours is mine. Based on this verse, the Father's vineyard has now been given to Jesus Christ.
Outside Jerusalem the Lord planted a garden, representing Christ's church in the world. The apostles went around the world evangelizing and forming churches. Today there are many congregations and pastors all over the world. He left his congregation garden in the custody of the guards, each to bring a thousand pieces of silver for its fruit. Jesus Christ gives the vineyard that the Father gave him to his redeemed people. Just as the Father sent Christ into the world in John 17:18, Jesus Christ also puts his people in the world as shepherds, servants and guardians of his garden.
"Watchmen" refers to church workers (Eze 3:17, 38:7). Here the Lord wants the church to be seen as a growing tree of blessing. He wants the church to be a fruitful vineyard. What this verse is saying is that the Lord has created the church as a vineyard and has entrusted the flock to them with watchmen who shepherd the church. Everyone in that flock must bear fruit. That is, it is said that he left to bring a thousand silver coins. That is, the Lord says here that everyone should be the one who collects the talent in his life. The Lord has given each one a talent, and He will surely call us to account for it one day (Matthew 25:14-30).
What we can see from this verse is that whoever is the pastor of the church reading this, please pay attention to this verse. This verse emphasizes to us that the Lord will surely ask the reward of every shepherd. He will also hold the church faithful accountable for the gift he gave. The church must be filled with thousands of souls. This verse teaches that the congregation should act with care for the benefit of the soul.
Are you afraid of being held accountable for this at the judgment?
