'Your height is like a palm tree, and your breasts are like vines.'
The palm tree is a tree that grows tall, straight, majestic and erect. The Lord Jesus Christ directly compares the church to a palm tree. As the palm tree remains green and luxuriant, it grows upward against all pressures such as storms. We see in Psalm 92: 12 that the righteous will flourish like a palm tree. Because the scriptures say that we are justified by Him by receiving His salvation. And the palm tree thrives and bears fruit even in droughts when there is no water. The church today is seen in the eyes of Christ, flourishing in spiritual growth in all circumstances and droughts.
The Lord Jesus Christ is saying to the congregation today that you are as tall as a palm tree. Although there are many trees in this world, the palm tree is considered the tallest. Similarly, no matter how many people there are in this world, you, my people, are seen as tall, righteous and successful in my eyes as a palm tree. And Jesus Christ tells his church that no matter how many difficulties like storms come in your life, you will be seen high. Beloved ones! If we want the blessing of this palm tree in our lives, we must have a sublime experience of living close to Jesus Christ in our lives.
'Thy breasts are like vines' The source of this verse is the prophetic verse Isa. It is said in 66:10-13. The Lord himself speaks this word (Isaiah 66:12). What this means is that the church is compared to a mother who nurtures and protects her children. Likewise, the church will be peace and comfort to those who love the Lord and to the Gentiles who come to the church. At the same time, we must remember that Christ cares for each of us as a mother cares for us (Isaiah 66:13).
The prophetic expression of station is Isa. According to 66:10-13 it is comfort, nourishment and sustenance. And it refers to the church's baptism. The doctrine of the church is love and faith (1 Thess. 5:8). The church is told that you should be like the branches of the vine in love and faith. The vines represent a growth and an increase. This verse not only refers to a growth of the church, but the church should be useful throughout its life for others to be seen as prosperous and blessed in the lives of others. Specifically, the church must meet the needs of others. Manavalan mentions that such people flourish in the congregation like grapes.
Are you exalted as righteous in the sight of Christ?
