"My sister! My bride! You are a fenced-in garden, a sheltered fountain, a sealed well.”
This verse refers to spirit, soul, and body. It refers to the fact that after a man is saved by the grace of Jesus Christ, he is protected and sealed by the Holy Spirit (Eph 1:13).
'The garden in which you are enclosed' refers to the soul. How in Jeremiah 31:12, Isaiah 58:11, the soul is compared to a garden. How to enclose and protect the garden of the soul? Only through the Word of God can it be contained and protected. (Genesis 2:15, Psalm 119:25,28).
It also refers to the spirit as the 'fountain with which the tomb is bound'. In verse 10:11 it is said that the mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life and in Psalm 141:3 it is said that the mouth is guarded, that is, the lips are guarded. We can see in Ephesians 4:29,30 that the mouth and the word are related to the Spirit.
A 'sealed well' refers to the body. When we see in 2 Peter 2: 17, 2 Timothy 2: 19, we can know that turning away from unrighteousness is a mark of the body. So the meaning of this verse beautifully tells us that the spirit, the soul, and the body are protected.
Beloved ones! If we live fully accepting Jesus Christ today, we receive spiritual clothing and are sealed and protected by the Holy Spirit.
Have you received this protection of Christ?
