Song of Song 4:1

Expectation from the Church of Jesus Christ

'You are Rupavati, my love! You are Rupavati; In the middle of your veil are your eyes like doves; Your hair is like a flock of goats flourishing on Mount Gilead.”

'You are Rupavati, my love! You are Rupavati;” Jesus Christ expresses His love for His bride, the Church.

'Thy eyes are doves' eyes in the midst of thy veil;' When people in darkness repent and come to Jesus, that veil is removed by Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 3: 14-16). Everyone needs to be saved from the darkness of sin. In this world where darkness is spread like this, the eyes of the people are opened by the light of God's gospel shining in the world. By the power of Jesus Christ, we are made righteous by the veil being completely removed from us.

'People walking in darkness have seen a great light; Light has shone upon those who dwell in the land of the darkness of death (Isaiah 9:2). This verse refers to the light that people received through Jesus Christ. Thus the people whose veil is removed are seen as fitting the glory of Christ. Jesus Christ describes the church as his bride as the bridegroom.

Here the Lord compares the congregation to the eyes of a dove. The dove is a holy bird, a sacrificial bird, a bird without guile. The Lord speaks about the assembly. You who were in darkness have now come to light through me. He describes the church as saying that you are sanctified and righteous. Matthew 6:22 says that the eye is the lamp of the body. A lamp emits light. That is, the eye manifests holiness like a dove. He says that the church now in the midst of the world is holy in the sight of Christ.

"Your hair is like a flock of goats grazing on Mount Gilead" Hair refers to the hair. When looking at the significance of hair in the Vedas,

(1) In Numbers 6 : 5, 8 - those who have the Nazarene fast should let their hair grow. , they will be set apart for the Lord and be holy. We see that the head of the head is given as a symbol of the Nazarene fast.

(2) In Judges 13:5 this verse refers to Samson's hair. Samson was also a Nazarene. His hair represents the strength that God had given him. This verse refers to dedication and spiritual strength.

 (3) The hair represents the glory of the church (1Cor 11:15). The church should always be filled with the glory of Christ.

Beloved ones! This verse indicates that the church is sanctified like a dove by Jesus Christ, and though it is in this world as innocent people, it is separated for Christ, with spiritual power and glory.

Are you holy, spiritual, and Christ-glorious?
