Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation; He said, "The spirit is spirited, but the flesh is weak" (Matthew 26:41).
Temptation is not a sin, no matter how holy one is in this world, temptation cannot exist without it. Every believer has temptation. Can I say that I have not been tested by any saint in this world? To be fair, they themselves have passed through more trials. But many are not tempted by God's grace.
Our flesh is weak. The power of our flesh will not help us to pass the test. By our own wisdom, by our own strength, we can never carry out the test.
So what advice does the Lord Jesus give to avoid falling into temptation? Watch and pray means watch and pray. True prayer is not ordinary. Satan will not let us pray. If we think to pray, many obstacles come to it. That is why it requires vigilance and caution. It takes determination to pray through any obstacle. When we pray like that, God will protect us from falling into temptation. May we pass with victory. Amen.
