"I lift up my eyes to the mountains, where I desire" (Ps. 121:1).
King David knew the sure, strong way. It is the way to always raise the eyes straight to the Lord. Yes, it is only through God's obedience that one can become victorious.
One day Peter's feet slipped. He started going into the water. He had to slip because his eyes did not see the Lord and looked towards the waves of the sea. It was not only slippery but also had to sink into the water. In that situation he cried out to the guard, "Lord, save me" (Matt. 14:30). Immediately Jesus reached out and caught him.
As the Lord liveth, he will establish you not to slip all the days of your life; Scripture says, "...He is able to save them to the uttermost, because He ever lives" (Heb. 7:25). May our eyes always be on the Lord. Amen.
