Humble yourselves before the Lord (James 4:10)  In this world man does not like to humiliate himself. Letting go is a bitter thing. To be humbled is to destroy the self. In the natural man it is not even an imm. But pride is like an ocean. How did it come to man? We inherited it from the original parent, Adam and Eve. It is like a mountain. Cracking this is no mean feat.

Pride is not for God. It belongs to the world. Pride is the gate and way to hell. God opposes the proud. There is no peace in the heart of the proud.

What is the effect of pride? Soul death, hellish punishment. Therefore this judgment is appointed for every man. What is a way out of this? Humble. It is to humble myself before God and say, Be gracious to me, a sinner. What is the benefit of lowering? Grace Yes, He gives grace to the humble. Amen.
