Honey in the Old Testament
The word
Used in many places
The land of Canaan is a land flowing with milk and honey (Numbers 14:8).
Honey is mentioned in the story of Samson (Niah 14).
There is also a reference to honey in the history of Jonathan and Saul (1 Sam 14).
When the word "honey" is used figuratively, it refers to generosity (Genesis 3:8; 13:5; 33:3).
Believers should delight in the word of God (Psalm 19:10; 119:103).
God's righteous word is as sweet as honey to His people (Ezekiel 3:3
The people of Canaan used to keep bees and collect honey as their profession.
When Joseph was in the land of Egypt, honey was among the gifts Jacob sent him (Genesis 43.11).
