Apostasy!

Backsliding from the faith and teaching of God is called apostasy. The Israelites had repeatedly turned away from their faith and turned away from the Lord (Jer 5.6). The prophet Jeremiah foretold that God's judgment would come upon them.

Many people are mentioned in the Bible as examples of those who have turned away from their faith in the Lord. Some of them

 1. King Saul - He turned away from the Lord and did not fulfill the Lord's words (1 Sam 15.11).

 2. Immenes and Alexander damaged their faithful ship (1Timothy 1.19-20).

 3. Tema became desirous of this world and separated from Paul (2 Tim 4:10).

Apostasy is different. Bad faith is different. False faith is caused by people's ignorance, but apostasy is knowingly and deliberately not believing in God.

The Apostle Paul, writing about the Day of Christ, mentions that "apostasy" will precede it. Then the man of sin, the son of Kate, will be revealed (2 Thess 2:3).

We who are living in the last times will receive eternal life by being steadfast in holy faith. Amen.
