The book – ‘Song of Songs’ is like
an Oyster in which, a beautiful pearl is found. That pearl is the mysterious
extravagant secrets kept hidden in the Oyster – ‘Song of Songs’. These secrets
are very precious, special and a treasured possession. First-time readers may
be confused and many people ignore this book without understanding it properly.
This book should not be read with an ordinary worldly point of view, because a
superficial and carnal view may give this book a wrong meaning and lead to
misinterpretation. Not everyone gets a chance to read and understand this Holy
book in the right way. But when its inner spiritual meaning is understood
correctly and properly, its depth, intensity, beauty, superiority and greatness
is discovered.
Just as one holds his breath, risks
his life and goes under the sea to its depth to find a pearl in an oyster, similarly,
if we take great effort to get to the depth of
knowing the secrets hidden in the verses from God's presence, of this
oyster “Song of Songs”, are we not blessed? “Song of Songs” with just eight
chapter gives the revelation of the hidden main ideas of books in the Bible
from Genesis to Revelation. Moreover, it can be said that the book ‘Song of Songs’ is a prophecy of the New Testament in the Old
Testament. In short, Song of songs is a song about the Supreme and also a
song sung by the Supreme.
When we
look at this book from the right angle, we understand its deep meaning. That
is, 'lover or King’ in this book
refers to the groom - 'Jesus Christ'; Similarly,
'Beloved or darling' refers to the
bride 'the church' (Note: Not everyone in the church; but the people of the
church who live in accordance to God’s protocal). In other words, to confirm
that the church is the bride of Christ, lets refer to Ephesians 5:23, which says “For
the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his
body, of which he is the Savior.” This
is a good source to prove the statement above. So, In this verse, the
bridegroom (Jesus Christ) is compared to the husband – the head. The bride (church
- the true uninterrupted believers who has pleased God) is compared to be the
wife – the body. So, the church is the bride of Jesus Christ. This is what is
said in Revelation 21:9, …“Come, I will
show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb."… and the following verses describes it.
The book “Song of Songs” is a
glorious book that describes the church as the bride, her relationship with the
groom - Jesus Christ, her beauty, her love towards Him, his love towards her,
His thoughts, His future plans, etc. are all described in the most beautiful
way. This book also points out the expectations of the groom towards His bride.
How a bride is expected to be? The Bible has said in many places that the
Bridegroom, Jesus Christ will come soon. This book teaches and helps the
congregation of the church to prepare, qualify and fulfill the bridegroom's
expectations and always be ready for His arrival that might happen any time
soon.
The book has a series of scenes
similar to those found in any play. But it is a fact or truth that it is not
divided according to time. The book is structured in such a way that one asks
questions and the other answers. We see many characters. With the best
qualities found in humanity, God taps our senses and helps us feel and
understand the wonderful love He has in us. This book leads you to have a loving
relationship with Jesus that you have never had before. In the New Testament,
we see this very much typified.
Beloved people of Christ! This book
is what we need today. It is very essential for us to have the knowledge of
scripture and a personal relationship with Christ. But only a very few people
have such Vedic knowledge and close relationship with God. This book is like a
painting about the bride - spiritual Church and the groom – Jesus Christ. It refers
to a special personal faithful bond or union with Christ. Jesus Christ,
portrays the expression of love and reveals His great plans and secrets in the
form of drawing in this book to the people who are willing to hear, even if
they are spoilt, with sluggish thinking, heartless and acting against the will
of God. Christ's love for an individual soul, and the union that individual
soul should establish with Christ, is set forth like a painting in this sublime
book.
This kind of relationship is not an
ordinary experience that we hear and feel through the ears of others, it is a
greater experience that we ourselves have to directly taste and receive from the
love of Jesus Christ. It is the experience of the relationship that Jesus
Christ makes with each individual. Through this we can see how great and how
glorious He is. We also need a personal relationship with Christ, which produces
a victorious Christian life. We must have an unquenchable thirst for Christ.
God does not love those who are
neither hot nor cold. That is why he said in Revelation 3:16, “So because you are lukewarm – neither hot nor
cold - I am about to spit you out of my mouth.” But today you can see such a
mediocre love among those who claim to be committed Christians. This book of
excellence is not for the ears of the unsaved or the man standing outside the
church. It belongs to those who have been added to the church by being dipped
in the blood of Jesus Christ, and to men who are thirsty for God’s words, have
a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and are longing to see and be with
Him. It belongs to those who deserve to be taken by Jesus as brides.
If you will be the children of God
and also be a lover of Jesus, this little hymnal kind of very practical book
will be of great help to you. Many people today think that being a traditional
name-sake Christian life is enough. This book calls you not only to be
Christians, but also it calls to be the bride of Jesus Christ. Through this, we
can know that God not only wants to speak his secret to the people, but also is
openly speaking the secrets to everyone who listens. And this book is like a
very delicate flower. So it has to be handled very carefully.
Thus the opening of this supreme Oyster is like Mary opening the perfume and pouring it. It can fill our insight from the head to toe. Just like how as soon as you open the perfume bottle, its fragrance fills the house, so when you open the book called Song of songs, the secrets buried in it are revealed and the fragrance starts to waft with the presence of God speaking to us. Let us look at these secrets one by one. Let us understand God's love. Amen.
