Song of Song 7:10

Council speaking

'I am my lover's, and his love is upon me.'

In this verse the church responds to the loving expressions Jesus Christ spoke to the church in the previous verses. Jesus, I am yours; It says forever and I am yours. The church also says that the love and grace of Jesus Christ is upon me. The church's union with Christ and interest in him strongly expresses the conviction of the church's faith. We can see the same lyrics repeated over and over again as the congregation sings in the hymn (Un 2:16).

All the fruit of grace, and strength in its exercise, and the church's zeal, courage, upright character, holy conduct, word, and all good things, to preserve the church's light and knowledge in divine truths. We see in the scriptures that Jesus bought us with the precious blood of Jesus Christ. We belong to Him. His love is in us (John 17:24,26). Likewise we see in 1 Cor 6:19-20 that we are not our own. Everyone should think that I am not my own, I am Jesus Christ's. This is what the council says here; That I belong to my lover.

Are you sure of yourself? That I belong to Christ.
