Jesus Christ speaking
"My love! You are beautiful like Tirzah, shapely like Jerusalem, fierce like an army with flying flags.”
Jesus Christ compares the church to Tirzah, the city of Jerusalem, and an army with flying flags.
Tirzah is a city (Joshua 12:8,24, 1Kings 16:23) Kings reign in the land of Tirzah. It has been a prosperous and beautiful land and that is why the Veda compares it to beauty. The church is beautiful in Christ's eyes. What kind of beauty? Adorning beauty is spoken of in 1 Peter 3:4.
Similarly, the beauty of Jerusalem is compared to the church. In Psalm 122:3-7 Jerusalem is built as a harmonious city. It is said that the Lord's people will go to praise His name, judgments are set, and there is peace and comfort. Here we see that in the eyes of Jesus Christ the church has received the blessing of obedient Jerusalem.
"As an army with flags flying" Jesus Christ compares the church to an army that has won battles and carries the flag proudly. Those who win battles, let their flags fly aloft;. This is a symbol of success. Kediumanava means valor. Who is the church at war with today? They fight with our adversary, Satan, as the scriptures say. As it is said in Ephesians 6:11-18, we must be strong in the power of God's strength, put on the whole armor of God, and overcome the works of the devil. He is the one who accustoms the church to spiritual warfare (Psalm 144:1). Therefore, as it is said in Joshua 1:9, be strong and strong. Isaiah 59:19 says, "When the enemy comes like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will raise a banner against him." That is, the church is victorious in every way with Christ's help, and the flags are like a flying army, says the mighty Christ.
Looking at the church that is victorious in this spiritual war, Jesus Christ is saying, how much a war army fights and wins, and comes with great courage! He also says that you, my church, are victorious over Satan. Therefore Christ speaks through this verse that you are beautiful in my sight, pure, strong, steadfast, peace and comfort.
Are you a conquering army of Christ?
