Song Of Song 2:1

'I am the rose of Sharon and the lily of the valleys.';

Jesus Christ looks at the congregation and says that I am your good shepherd, your refuge, your daily feeder, and I am meek and lowly in spirit, revealing to you my glory and majesty.

Rose of Sharon: Sharon is mentioned in the scriptures as a very important and special place. They are

1) Mentioned as the herding of flocks. (Isaiah 65:10).

2) It reveals God's providence. David's cattle were fed there. (1 Chron 27:29)

3) Represents the glory of the Lord and the greatness of our God. (Isaiah 35:2)

Lily of the valleys : Christ calls himself the lily of the valleys. The lily blossoms in the valleys are very beautiful to see, visually pleasing and cooling. Also seen as a symbol of rebirth and motherhood. They are said to bring happiness and signify holiness. Then we can compare it to the words of Jesus Christ that I am meek and lowly in heart. In Matthew 11:29 he also expects the church. Jesus Christ says in Matthew 5:5, Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth. Lily of the Valley is a small flower that can be found everywhere and blooms well. This refers to the church multiplying and blessing on earth.

Have you realized the greatness of Jesus Christ?
