Song of Song 1:16

Church refers to Jesus as Christ

'He who has the form of water; My friend! Thou, pleasant One, our couch is green.”

This is a song that the congregation of Christians sings to remember the beauty, love and comfort of Jesus Christ.

Water-like; My friend! You are pleasant; The beauty of the Lord Jesus Christ is mentioned in the scriptures. (Psalm 45:2, Zechariah 9:17). Pleasant means lovable. Because of the bridegroom the heart of the congregation rejoices in the Lord. So the church says that he is pleasant.

In this verse, the church says, "Our couch is green" and speaks of the strength of the relationship between the church and Christ. Couch means bed. The spiritual meaning of bed is rest. That is, we are talking about spiritual rest here. In this world, although there are some wounds in the body, the rest that our soulmate Jesus Christ gives us in the soul is green. Green means prosperity and well-being.

Today we as the church find rest through Jesus Christ. Matthew 11:28 says, "Come to me, all you who mourn and mourn." As we cling to Jesus Christ, He will surely give us rest. This verse refers to our being with Jesus Christ. We can find rest in this world through Christ. At the same time eternal rest can also be obtained through him.

Are we worthy to receive Christ's rest? Let's think.
