All the counsel you have received has only worn you out! (Isaiah 47:13)
Scripture does not say that it is wrong to think. But the problem is to know the kind of idea that we think and how good is it. If we read this whole chapter, we can see the people whom the Isralites were looking for to help them with their ideas. They were looking for, Astrologers, the star-gazer, the forecasters, etc. To leave the scriptures and wanting to know about darkness for oneself is like willingly seeking for destruction.
Today, there are Christians who see such things as day, time, and vaastu. Such people are driven by their ideas. They cannot see the true divine blessing in life. No matter how wisely they plan and act, God will not be in it.
Today there are Christians who combine devotion and wisdom. They practice Christianity along with the customs and rituals of the Gentiles. But the Christian who has tasted the love of Christ surrenders himself totally to the Lord. His ideas will strengthen. (Proverbs 16: 3) He depends on God alone for everything. He would have the scripture as his guide. Let us also walk the same way. Amen.
