They loved the glory of men more than the glory of God (John 12:43).

How great is the glory that comes from God! God's acceptance of us is good. Is there any other glory than God saying, "You are good and perfect"? Everyone should seek this kind of glory that comes from God. For that, one should strive in the Lord that every thing should be seen in his life. That should be the goal of a true Christian.

The Lord Jesus has said here about some people that they want the glory that comes from men? About whom does he say this? Look at the preceding verse. But many of the officers believed in him. Even so, the Pharisees did not report it so that they would not be thrown out of the synagogue (John 12:42) and these people believed in Jesus. But did not declare it before others. Fear that if you declare your faith to others, they will think you down. And you may be reluctant to be looked down upon in front of others.

Do not seek the dignity and superiority of men. It will never be a spiritual good. Lord Jesus says, I do not accept glory from men. (John 5:41) What is said of our Savior is that He is despised and neglected by men (Isaiah 53:3). Remember Jesus who died for us. The Lord will exalt us. Amen.
