2 Corinthians 4:7. "We have received this treasure in earthen vessels, that it may be understood that this mighty power is not of us, but of God."

 Man was created from the dust of the earth. And for the duration of our earthly life we ​​live in weak, perishable bodies. Yet the Lord took worthless, insignificant human forms and poured into them the revelation of the glorious gospel of His only begotten Son.

Our frail body has treasured the precious light of the knowledge of God's glory. May He live in us and work through us - for our eternal good and His great praise and glory. We keep this treasure in earthen vessels.

From dust to dust we shall return. We are indeed earthen vessels, but the treasure that dwells within our mortal frame is the beautiful Spirit of our Lord Christ Jesus. It is through faith in Christ Jesus that we keep this treasure in earthen vessels. Our mortal bodies have become the temple of the Holy Spirit, so that the greatness of power comes from God, not from us.

When we do the works of God, the greatness of His power rests with the Lord, not with us. If we realize this well, we who are earthen vessels will glorify God. Amen.
